ABSTRACT: Addressing the challenges of digital divide in vocational training for rural areas is essential to ensure equitable access to education and skills development. This study aimed to identify the challenges faced by rural students in accessing digital vocational training, evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives to bridge the digital divide, and assess student satisfaction with these initiatives. A survey design was employed to collect comprehensive data from participants in rural vocational training programs. The sample size included 150 students from various rural areas. Purposive sampling was used to select participants experiencing digital access issues. The case study was conducted at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that limited internet access, lack of digital devices, and insufficient digital literacy were major barriers for rural students. Initiatives such as mobile learning centers, subsidized internet access, and digital literacy programs significantly improved access and participation in vocational training. Students reported high satisfaction with these initiatives, emphasizing the increased opportunities for learning and skill development. It was recommended that further investments be made in digital infrastructure and educational resources for rural areas to sustain and expand access to vocational training.
